Wayfair Caught In Scandal – Black Market Network

0 0

Wayfair has recently been caught in an accusation that their platform was being used to sell underground or black market products. It is true it happens all the time, but is it happening here? Perhaps.

Is this “Fake News”? Maybe. Is this viral internet hype? Definitely.

We should call this the Wayfair scandal we no nothing about, where nothing really happened. Maybe this is a PR stunt by some 3rd party to push the Wayfair stock? I actually think it might be.

Was Wayfair aware this scandal of listings was happening?

Most likely no, not until recent reports. They recently deleted the nefarious listings, so it is assumed they did not know.

What was being sold?

Noone will ever know. Wayfair stands by the statement the the products were industrial grade and expensive…etc..

Are black market networks using Wayfair.com?

Black market networks operate in a close circle and do not allow out of network purchases, hence the high price, no shopper would ever pay, for an item worth thousands of ($) dollars less.

They post items for sale on public platforms like Wayfair, Amazon, Ebay, and even Walmart.com and many sites you would assume have no vendors, actually do.

Because black market products are illegal, they cannot put up a website in the public, and so unless they go to the dark web, these circles use public platforms with coded products, etc..

Amazon & Ebay Connection

Earlier in my reporting years I came across a story similar to this. I investigated and found several sellers on Ebay and Amazon selling empty boxes for 10’s of thousands of dollars. Sellers were posting listings of cardboard boxes and bins for thousands of dollars. The speculation was that we stumbled on some black market use of public sales platforms. Nothing could be found further.

This story is very similar.

Simple storage boxes that should only cost a few hundred dollars, or a few thousand dollars are being sold for over 10 thousand dollars.

The CEO of Wayfair just resigned… became a trending rumor, but the CEO denies any resignation, so this is a hoax.

The accusations go so far as to accuse Wayfair in allowing child trafficking through these purchases. That is ludacris. If some blackmarket child trafficking ring was using Wayfair to buy and sell children, there would be no benefit to Wayfair. This is a billion ($) dollar company we are talking about. Not a few thousand ($) dollar black market sales.

You see the trend here. The story gets more and more out of control. The internet is spinning a small crumb of speculation, into a gigantic story of demonic elites…blah blah blah

No matter how vile any story is, or this accusation, it is only an accusation. Nothing is proven at all. The entire speculation that the company Wayfair had a part in this accusation is nonsense. No matter how much you hate “the elites”, please keep your feet planted on the ground.

We don’t even know if this is a real black market network. This could be a simple typo, or overpriced item. But why the hype? There must be some real internet activity on this from a large influencer. I cannot see any sensation beyond a potential black market sale on the internet, which is not too exciting. If this was child trafficking as speculated, then this could be a major story. Maybe if we find the seller and some more information, we can speculate further. Or we focus on things we have evidence for.

Thus far, it is not clear what these listings were used for (see below)…

These furniture listings are also listed with female names in the front of the listing title. Some examples are “Alyvia” and “Samiyah”.

Wayfair Allows Anyone To Sell

Of course, there are some limitations. There is a sign up process. Some vetting, etc.. But nevertheless, with a little ease you can sign up to sell on Wayfair.com as a vendor.

This does mean the entire story could have been concocted by an internet troll. Or…possibly some kind of sick person.

The facts are in this report mild. I have come across this type of black market sales tactic in the past, and so I doubt this is a troll or a joke.

Most likely this is simply an easy way for some black market system to ship their goods around the world or within a country.

What better labeling than a large corporation that most likely wont be searched by customs. Which everyone knows less than 1% of items are searched anyway.

What Is There To Gain?

As far as masking with a brand label instead of the black market network just using regular UPS. I cannot gander as to the purpose other than widespread advertising.

Perhaps this listing is a true small network of buyers and sellers who are aware of the current marketplace and listings. They then use the platform as intended, to buy and sell until the product is sold out of inventory.

The underlying question here is, “What is actually being sold?”

“What is actually being shipped with these storage cabinets?”

“Are they selling cabinets at all?”

Frechette, spokeswoman of Wayfair, said, “Recognizing that the photos and descriptions provided by the supplier did not adequately explain the high price point, we have temporarily removed the products from the site to rename them and to provide a more in-depth description and photos that accurately depict the product to clarify the price point.” – The Courier Daily

We may never know the truth behind this story as it seems the listings have been removed from Wayfair.
