Do Not Feed The Protesters. Man Shot By National Guard Was Handing Out BBQ.

0 0

David McAtee was shot and killed while feeding the “protesters”. According to the Stars and Stripes, a national news organization for and by American soldiers, the national guard of Kentucky has been involved in at least one fatal shooting.

He was killed in reaction to the recent peaceful protest turned riots – that sparked after George Floyd was killed by a corrupt and poorly trained police officer. Now another innocent man has been killed.

IMPORTANT: Now that the “peaceful protest” has turned into a “chaotic riot”. Peaceful protesters need to go home, or they could be caught in the crossfire.

Video of David McAtee Shooting From Bystander

“In Louisville, Ky., a National Guard member and a city police officer were involved in a fatal shooting at about midnight Monday, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said in a statement.”Stripes.com

David McAtee, 53, of Louisville, Kentucky was the person who was found dead due to the gunfire. McAtee, who is receiving a lot of public attention due to the shooting, was in a confrontation with rioters during the conflict. McAtee was the owner of YaYa’s BBQ, founded only in February of 2019. His newly successful business, was likely affected by the recent economic crisis. Yet still, McAtee found it necessary to constantly feed the homeless, provide police with free food, and at sometime between Sunday 5/31/2020 and Monday 6/1/2020 around midnight, McAtee found it necessary to give away food to the protesters…This man was obviously a genuinely good hearted person, however this decision cost him his life.

It has been reported though that McAtee was cooking BBQ and passing out food. Other’s say McAtee was even delivering food to the protesters. Regardless, McAtee was not at home, as most all Americans should be if they live in a city where these protests have gone awry and turned into violent riots. Kentucky has experienced several recent shootings by police and has especially large and violent riots occurring.

Basic Facts of the 5/31/2020 Fatal Shooting by Kentucky National Guard

  1. There was a small faction of police in riot gear – and guardsman in full garb dispatched to disperse a crowd.
  2. While commanding the crowd to disperse, the group of police and guardsman were shot at.
  3. The guardsman returned fire.
  4. At least one person was found dead in the crowd, after it finally dispersed.

Supposedly, there were no body cameras were active during the shooting according to USA Today.

According to Phylicia Ashley of Wave3News, “David McAtee was a bystander. Family says he died shielding his niece from getting shot.”

This was not the first time the national guard shot at rioters. The same night, guardsman in Minnesota shot at an oncoming vehicle, which was the first incident of shots being fired against the “George Floyd” rioters.

This is obviously not the result anyone wanted. George Floyd would not want this, nor do most Americans. The only help we can all give is our absence, our absence in these riots, until they die down. Protests can potentially continue later.

The first shots fired by the national guard occurred in Minnesota, where Floyd was killed.

There was an incident where a fast moving vehicle continued to accelerate towards 3 armed national guardsman. The three guardsman motioned non-verbally and commanded the vehicle operator verbally to stop. The vehicle continued to accelerate and was fired upon.

The soldier dispersed 3 shots, and according to reports no one was killed.

On May 31st, Trump ordered the national guard to at least 23 States. The national guard published the below press release.

Guard members in 23 states, D.C. called up in response to civil unrestBy Sgt. 1st Class Jon Soucy | National Guard Bureau | May 31, 2020

ARLINGTON, Va. – As of Monday morning, National Guard Soldiers and Airmen were activated in 23 states and the District of Columbia in response to civil disturbances, bringing the total number of Guard members on duty in support of their governors to nearly 66,722.

This number represents 17,015 Guard members activated for civil unrest, 45,000 for COVID-19 response, as well as other Guard members for state-specific disasters such as wildfires, flooding and other natural disasters.

The civil unrest response mission is expected to grow as governors assess the fluid situations in their states and call on the National Guard to assist.

“The hardest mission we do is responding in times of civil unrest,” said Air Force Gen. Joseph Lengyel, chief of the National Guard Bureau.

The activation of Guard members in response to civil unrest has unfolded in multiple cities in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Guard personnel assigned to these missions are trained, equipped and prepared to assist law enforcement authorities and first responders, said Lengyel.

“We plan, train and prepare for emergency response missions with our local, state, and federal partners,” he said. “We’re part of the communities we serve. We know the police, fire departments and hospital workers. We know their capabilities because we live with their capabilities.”

Guard members are to perform a variety of mission sets including traffic control, support to law enforcement, transportation and communication support. They’ve also been called upon to assist with extinguishing fires burning as a result of the unrest.

“Aircrews were using forest fire equipment, including helicopter water buckets, to put out building fires at protests last night,” said Lengyel.

The overall mission of Guard members is to assist local authorities and ensure safety.

“We’re here to help and assist local authorities,” said Lengyel. “Our troops are here to protect life and property, and preserve peace, order and public safety.”

Those Guard members called up are in a state active duty status and remain under the command and control of their respective governors, said Lengyel, adding those responding will continue to adhere to COVID-19 prevention measures.

“Governors have used Guard members many times during response efforts to support local and state law enforcement in a wide range of capacities, to include assisting in upholding the rule of law.” said Lengyel. “While conditions may change, the National Guard’s ability to respond is constant.”

Why did these riots break out in the first place?

The media glorified the death of an unarmed black man killed by a police officer (George Floyd). And now, of course they demanded justice, etc.. and pandered to the unruly. Riots began, another black man was killed (David McAtee) by police, riots are now getting bigger, etc… and it goes on and on.

The national guard, military, etc.., the patriotic and civilized Americans who care about our country will protect the businesses and civilians of our country alike.

At least one person has now been killed as a result of these riots. Will it stop there? Unlikely. How does this make you feel? Honestly, it is a little worrisome for me. I do not want to see an America with the military policing the streets, and that is exactly where we are heading.

Trump Encourages Governors To Utilize National Guard Or Military Will Be Activated

If this happens, and the military is ordered to fire on it’s own people, in America, there might be no turning back. There could be a longer term form of authoritarian rule in American streets unlike any coronavirus lock-down or curfew of the past.

There will surely be more deaths as long as these riots continue. The near future only looks grimmer by the day as more and more violence breaks out and more innocent people are caught in the crossfire.

All I can say is, “Do Not Feed The Protestors”.
